First Pregnancy, Third Trimester

What : Welcome to third trimester of pregnancy. It means, holiday is over lol. Welcome to tremendous hormonal  and body changes at full force. At this point i am not going to update much because it is so uncomfortable sitting too long 🙂 . In conclusion, this is the time when you really have to concentrate on you physical health. When i thought i am pretty much fit, apparently baby gain so much and unexpectedly might cause pain here and there.

Baby movement is also getting strong, and by this time baby will turn to “correct”  position as in ready to come out. My baby was in transversal until 8 months and finally head down afterwards.

Week count : 28  weeks – 40  weeks (or until meeting your baby)
Do :
  • Keep moving your body (carefully), keep your blood circulation going well. No joking, i had terrible lower back pain which i did not expect at all. So deep breath and move, like everyday! Sign up for prenatal exercise class if you need to.
  • At this point you will be hungry ghost lol. Whatever you eat, in every two hours you will be hungry again. Watch out too much carbohydrate, vegetables and fruits are the best.
  • You feel like peeing in every five minutes (i know it is real struggle), but better keep your body well hydrated no matter what. So drink enough water in day time. Bring your water bottle everywhere you go. In my case, i fainted at fish market and learned from this, hopefully it won’t happen again.
  • At the end of month 8 of pregnancy, make sure you are ready with all babies stuff.
  • Groom yourself if you can. Go to hair salon, get head massage of whatever that relaxes you.
Don’t :
  • Don’t eat too much junk food, come on. There are plenty of nutritious and delicious food out there seriously.  Take time experimenting new cooking or buy something healthy, just think about your baby first 🙂
  • Don’t force yourself if you think you are tired. At this point, take things slowly, sleep if you need to, rest if you have to. Other duty or household chores really can wait. Ask your partner’s help and keep him updated as always.
  • Don’t think too much. There are things are out of your control and it is okay. Instead, believe that anything happened or is going to happen already in God’s plan. So chill 🙂

First Pregnancy, Second Trimester

What : Just get to the point, second trimester of pregnancy is such a relief. I am currently at the end of my second trimester and the past few months i felt the healthiest state during pregnancy. This time was pretty much the opposite of the first trimester, so horray!

No more nausea, your appetite is back, your energy is back, you feel less crazy and back being yourself again. Even sometimes you don’t feel pregnant at all, lol.

The good thing is baby is growing rapidly, literally you can see the bump is getting bigger week by week. Now the most exciting part is baby starts moving and i freaked out for the first time. It started really soft until you really can feel something is kicking from the inside of your belly. I have no words to explain, first time was so creepy yet cute. It is just amazing feeling.

The more you feel your baby is moving around, you will love it more because it means he/she is healthy and fine 🙂

Week count : 13  weeks – 24 weeks
Do :
  • Move your body, light exercise. Seriously it helps me to keep up with my stamina, and add up energy for doing household chores.
  • Eat nutritious food and snacks. Your appetite is  raging over and taking control at second trimester. But remember, baby is taking so much from your body so you have to nourish up to replenish what your body needs. I ate 5-6 times a day (small portion of course, and try to have fresh food choice by cooking  or making your own snack instead of ready made or processed food. Why? because cakes and sugary food makes my body tired and sleepy instead of giving me energy).
  • Research your baby shopping list, what’s necessary and what’s not.
  • Keep updating your spouse of how you feel, your health, and your mood. He will be glad to help out if you need him to.
  • Do positive things, keep tracking your pregnancy condition like simply  taking your baby bump photos and be happy!
Don’t :
  • Don’t listen to craps people say you have to eat this and that, do this and that, what cosmetics you should use and don’t. So before you decide what to do, read up, do some research. What is actually good, what is not. It is your body, your mind, you are in control.
  • While your bump is growing, people will say things about your body whether it is positive or negative (simple example that happened to me is like “you are too skinny, you are still skinny. You should put more weight while your pregnant and so on”). Well, just chill and relax, human is made in various sizes, so what. If you are healthy and living happily ever after, that’s more than enough. Trust your body, it is already working hard for the baby. Be grateful instead.
  • I know some little things can stressed you out easily, but do not stress to much. Pregnancy journey should be enjoyable moment.

First Pregnancy, First Trimester

What : This is my first pregnancy at first trimester. I have felt the weirdest mixed feeling in my life. To put into words it is something like feeling surprised, nervous, have no idea what to do, worry, moody and also at the same time i feel funny, happy, actually the happiest :), and most importantly i felt grateful to God for the little magic that is growing in me.

Physically, it is really uncomfortable. I have been so sick, sore throat, fever, vomitting, nausea, lost appetite and just zero energy. The good news is how terrible you feel at the beginning, it is completely normal.

Week count : 0 weeks – 13 weeks
Do :
  • Go visit doctor, and have a check. To make sure the little baby is fine.
  • Do what makes you feel better
  • Eat vitamins and nutritious food as much as you can
  • Trust your baby and your body, they are pretty strong to live if God allows.
  • It is okay to do the usual activity or traveling abroad, as long as you keep yourself healthy.
  • Take photos for good memory 🙂
  • Talk to your partner and family of how you feel. Trust me, emotional support plays major part to keep you feeling positive.
  • Pray to God that everything will be okay.
Don’t :
  • Don’t spend too much time googling everything that makes you curious about pregnancy. Sometimes the internet will give you the worst case scenario and it makes you worry and keep thinking about it unnecessarily.
  • Don’t force yourself to eat this and that just because people said so.
  • Do not listen much of what people say. You know what you feel best for your body, what you do and what you eat. It is your body, time to love it more and pay more attention to it.

First time i heard the baby heartbeat. Tears of happiness to know he or she stays strong in my hard days 🙂
